2022 ASRIF
Announcement
It has been five years since President Xi Jinping promoted the construction of the Air Silk Road. Over the 5 years, China’s aviation industry has been growing steadily. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the Air Silk Road construction has seen positive results in fighting against the virus and in areas of air transportation, airport economy, and international cooperation. It has enriched the connotation of the Belt and Road Initiative and accumulated practical experiences.
Integrated into the Belt and Road Initative, the Air Silk Road is essential for the advancement of the “four-in-one” interconnection layout, which includes the road, sea, air, and internet. In addition, it contributes to a country with a strong civil aviation industry. As China has entered the new development stage, the high-level Air Silk Road not only accelerates the process of a “dual circulation” development pattern but also promotes high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, which will strengthen China’s civil transport in international accessibility, service efficiency, network reliability and industrial cooperativity.
Drawing on the systems and achievements of the previous forums, the 4th Air Silk Road International Forum (ASRIF), which themes Digital Empowerment and Low Carban Development – New Driving Forces to the Air Silk Road Industrial Upgrade, aims to look back at the achievements of the Air Silk Road construction over the past 5 years. Meanwhile, it will interpret the thought, principles, objectives and main tasks indicated in the guideline on promoting the development of an "Air Silk Road" during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.
The 4th ASRIF has invited officials of ministries of China, representatives of the embassies and consulates in China, academicians, scholars, representatives of several associations, senior profiles from the aviation industry including airports, directors of airport economic zones, as well as heads from various organizations that are Air Silk Road related yet outside aviation industry. 2022 is an important year for China; the 20th CPC National Congress will take place later this year. In this background, the guests gather on topics including policy communication, facility connectivity, unimpeded trade and civil aviation security, to advance the Air Silk Road construction in the new development stage.
